DELTA FLIGHT CANC., GOT A 'FIM' FOR BRITAIR
On 13 May, our Delta connecter to JFK was cancelled, due to weather, they said. Our travel agent told us of a Britair flight that would get us to Athens-AND ABOUT THE FIM. FIM stands for 'flight interruption manifest'. We needed to get this paper from the Delta ticketing desk, specifying the new carrier, in order for Delta to pay for the new flight. The take-home-message is,-"get a FIM from the airlines who cancelled your flight so you may board a substitute flight.<BR>This FIM may be for the same airline or any other air line they will agree to. Others in our group who did not find out about alternates themselves were kept on Delta flights--all the new arrangements for them were most inconvenient.
