Last April we cleared Customs/Immigration at O'Hare, and the lines were worse than at Disneyland. There were only 3 agents for hundreds of people standing in line; it took nearly 2-1/2 hours for us to move at a snail's place up to the desks. Clearly government funding for the operation is inadequate--forget that wall, assign more agents at the airports!

It can happen at any airport. I've seen lines from here to next Sunday, and barely any lines at all. I mostly fly at the front of the plane and have Global Entry so long lines are seldom an issue. But there are so many variables, the the long lines you experienced in April, could have been nothing the next day . . . or three hours later.

Can you get global entry? Its a time saver. We breezed thru LAX last Dec. on our way to Chicago from Australia.

Global Entry is worth every penny and the inferviews, fingerprinting, etc. under ten minutes to clear through immigration at JFK, LAX, EWR.

It’s $100.00 for five years and my wife’s fee was waived as she has the Sapphire Reserve card. They did not apply it to the yearly fee either, just canceled the charge.
