Connection time at DFW

We are flying Delta to Maui through DFW. Because of changes in flight times, our connection time has been cut to 26 minutes. Is this enough time? Should I be worried about making the connection? I'm fairly certain the two gates will be close to each other.

Delta will fly in and out of the same terminal. I did a google search for the dfw airport and found this site.

Your bigger problem will be your luggage making it. Carry-on some essentials in case that happens (if you check things through)

spartanap.....Where are you flying to DFW from?If you are in Atlanta, I would definitely ask Delta to put you on an earlier flight.I'm assuming looking at the DL sked that you are taking the flight out of LAX at 3.25pm,meaning you would take the DL flight out of DFW at 11.30am.When transiting DFW, I try to schedule my connecting flight around midday as the morning "rush" has settled down and the afternoon crunch is yet to be.Still, a 26 minute connection even within the same terminal would be iffy.Just my HO.Good luck!

That's a very tight connection. I've been caught sitting in a plane on the taxiway waiting for a gate to open for at least that long.

I agree with previous poster recommending an earlier flight to DFW -- call Delta. In no res. agent's manual is 26 min. enough time, so don't take "I'm sorry" for an answer.

While it is certainly possible to disembark from one plane and board another within 26 minutes it's not relistic. First, there's never a guaranty your inbound flight will arrive on schedule - delays can and do happen. As the previous poster said you could spend more than 30 minutes waiting on the tarmac for a gate to open. Second, if you happen to be in the back of the plane it could easily be 10 minutes or more before you actually get into the terminal. Add to that the possibility that they could close the gate on you departing flight 10 minutes before departure time and there you are missing your flight. At best you will have a very stressful in bound flight, especially upon landing at DFW, at the worst you miss you connection. It's not worth the risk. If at all possible I'd suggest you see if you can get an earlier flight into DFW.

I agree, a 26 minute connection at DFW is not reasonable unless by some miracle your planes are right next to each other.

Spokaneman's axiom of flying: if your inbound flight is late, your outbound flight will be exactly on time.

Missing a flight to Maui would be a problem as flights are very full this time of year, and there are not that many flights available without going through HNL which adds a bunch of time to the trip.

Thanks for the replies. I contacted Delta and they moved us to an earlier flight connecting in Salt Lake City. An hour layover in SLC sounds much better than 26 min. in DFW.

If you or anyone has a short connection time try and sit in the front of plane, in the back, sometimes it takes forever for these carry ons to get their luggage from the overhead bins, Buck
