British Air Misery

We had flight on British Air cancelled at the last minute and had to scramble to find new flights home. The website was almost as useless as the agent with the heavy accent that we finally spoke to after 50 minutes on hold. We have heard other horror stories from this airline. Just a warning to others.

Sorry you had problems. Unfortunately every single airline has cancellations (and horror stories) every single day. And when flights are cancelled everyone is trying to be re-booked on other flights at the same time. British Airways usually automatically re-books passengers when a flight is cancelled . . .

When you say you 'scrambled' does that mean you booked new flights on your own or was the 'scramble' getting BA to find you another flight?

Was your cancelled flight over this past weekend? From your other thread it seems your flight was from either the UK or Ireland - right??

I was just reading in the Telegraph and there was weather and ATC chaos -- neither of which is BA's fault.

Just part of the article reads::"More than 10,000 passengers have been hit by flight cancellations at UK airports because of bad weather and air traffic control staff shortages in Europe.

At least 125 scheduled flights were grounded on Sunday and Monday, including 82 British Airways flights to and from Heathrow.

Several airlines also cancelled flights to and from Gatwick. The worst affected airline was easyJet, with 34 flights grounded on Sunday and at least nine on Monday."
