Bravofly is a scam - beware
I booked a flight with them last May. The airline made a change by the end of June and I got notified. I had the choice to accept or deny the change, which I denied. Bravofly neither responded nor communicated to me that they confirmed as if I accepted the change. I tried to call their number during business hours and It just hangs. I called the airline directly and they were happy to assist.
Fast forward,10 days ago, I got a notice that my flight was cancelled. I responded immediately to get a refund. Now they are saying that if I were to choose a full refund back to my original credit card, they will only submit a refund request for 2986.00 US Dollars out of the amount of 3052.44 US Dollars that I paid. Adding insult to injury, they said the refund is not "guaranteed" (even if the flight was cancelled altogether) and it could take months to process, if ever! Again, I called the airline's customer care, and they affirmed to me that I as soon as they get the refund request from the agent they will process it instantaneously. Abviously, Bravofly is playing the bully here.
Needless to say, there is no refund in sight till now. And no status update from their customer service.

I think you confused the issue by getting the airline involved when you should have only dealt with Bravofly. Doesn't sound like you followed their process for dealing with changes made by the airline, which is to call or email Bravofly if you don't accept the changes. If Bravofly behaved as if you accepted the change, then you must have accepted it.

This is very shady. Either you get what you pay for or get a refund. If the flight was cancelled then what's this notion of possibly never processing the refund! Any reputable company would do this ASAP and not tell the customer this nonsense. Again call your cc company and protest the charge

Odin: if you have followed other threads re Bravofly on this forum or elsewhere you would hesitate to blame the OP for their inability to get a timely refund. Even without any knowledge of Bravofly's legendary poor service, surely this is straightforward: The OP paid for a flight. the flight was cancelled., the purchaser wants their money back. What part of this do you not understand? Any sensible person would go direct to the airline if they received no response from the middle man/agent.
As jacketwatch says, take it up with your credit card company.

Hi netvisao,
Thanks for taking the time to provide us with your feedback and we're sorry it has been necessary for you to post a negative comment online. Unfortunately the time taken to process the refund depends entirely upon the airline.
Please can you send us your 9-digit Bravofly ID to check the status of your refund?
Kind regards, Sofia

eliztravels: Your opinion only highlights your lack of understanding of the issues. I have read other threads and mostly I do not believe them. Why is it not a timely refund? 10 days is not a long time to wait. Why is it sensible to go to the airline who did not issue the ticket and ask about a refund? What will the airline do? Airlines do not know anything about travel agency refund processes, nor their own if they said they action refunds as soon as the request is received. But I don't believe the airline ever said that. If your flight time changes and you do not accept it, why would you call the airline "to assist". Assist in what precisely? If you change a booking directly with an airline, what is your travel agency going to see? How is the new ticket for the changed booking going to be issued? Why would you only call during office hours, why would you not email as an alternative? If the OP persevered with calling Bravofly, they could have cancelled and started the refund process there and then. I suggest you read Bravofly's FAQ page. Feel free to believe everything these complaining posters write.

Believe what you like. However there is a ton of bad reviews about them. I don't think they are all wrong.

>>BTW Odin would you book a flight thru Bravofly?<< Yes I would (they are part of the lastminute group) and I would know how to handle a flight time change and I would know how long to wait for a refund before complaining. An airline refund is not like taking a pair of shoes back to the store and getting an instant refund.
>>there is a ton of bad reviews about them. I don't think they are all wrong<< I don't think they are all wrong either but many of them are, if you read the responses from Bravofly.

>What is the added value of a TA for booking a flight ?
The main value (one of them at least) for experienced travelers is access to bulk fares and promotions beyond what is on websites. For inexperienced travelers there is the ability for a competent TA to put together complex itineraries which, again, one cannot necessarily find online. There are more if I were to think about it but it's Friday...
