Lisa,

Tom Parsons is frequently on the morning news show here in our area. While I can't say about your request for May, I do know that you would probably have to travel a great deal to justify the cost of membership. What I mean is that if your going to pay a $60.00 membership and only book one trip with them, then you might want to consider using a travel agent. The service fee is a per ticket charge, which, is what a one time use membership fee would be translated into.

If you don't want to pay a membership try Priceline.com or Hotwire.com.

Yes, we had a great experience with them last year for our June trip from Baltimore to Germany. $491 round trip to Frankfurt when we split the $50 membership fee between the 2 tickets--not bad for June. And if we had been able to travel during the week instead of the weekend, it would have been $441. If you don't book something within 30 days, they will refund your membership fee back upon request.

I had spent hours and hours for weeks online chasing down elusive internet and 800# fares, Bestfares puts a bunch of them in one place so you don't have to do that--well worth $50 or $60. Sometimes they will lower that membership fee to $50 if you ask. Either way you can get your money back if you don't find anything--so what do you have to lose?

What's this about getting your money back if you don't find anything? Judging from their website, the $60 is considered an annual membership fee, and they don't say it's refundable if you don't book a flight. Is it really?

RufusTFirefly:

This thread is over a year old, and the other bestfares.com thread you just brought up is almost as old. Why the sudden urge to defend bestfares???

Although a few people praise bestcom, the majority of reviews I have read from posters on this and other boards are overwhelmingl negative.

Because I just started reading stuff here, and people do still read these old posts. They should have all the facts. And the fact is that my wife and I got a great deal through them last year.

And speaking of all the facts, I was wrong about the 30 days--they changed it some time within the past year to 48 hours. Sorry.
