BA carry on can only weigh 13 pounds?

Does anyone know how strict they are? I have to bring my laptop on this trip, which weighs 8 pounds, add my camera, purse and suitcase, and it's going to be well over that limit!

I'm wishing I could find a way out of using BA. Everytime I mention that to AA, I get no help. "Nothing available!"

Panic is setting in!

BA has removed carryon weight limits since the one-bag-through-UK-airports rule. Your bag can weigh as much as you want, as long as it's not oversized.

Really? Whew! I was just told that by an AA rep on the phone when trying to figure out why BA doesn't have my correct status. I had looked on the BA site, and it didn't mention weight requirments, just size and the limit of 1 bag.

Thanks rkkwan - you made me feel much better!

BA used to have a 6 kilo limit. But that was removed quite some time ago - they haven't weighted carry-on's for more than a year
