Are they really going to feed me dinner at 1 AM on overnight flight?
Flying Business class Miami-Buenos Aires. Flight leaves MIA at 11:30 PM. Itinerary says dinner and breakfast served. Not used to flying overnight nor business class - and no reason to doubt AA website. Just seems a little odd and perhaps annoying when I may want to try to sleep on the 9-10 hour flight. Do they really feed people at this hour?

I have been on 2 flights leaving in the wee hours and dinner was offered. One flight was on Peru, leaving around 1am. The flight attendant asked me in advance if I want dinner or if I plan to sleep. That was in biz class.
On an El Al flight from Israel we left around 2am, that time I was flying coach. About an hour after take-off the flight attendant came by with a cart, woke me up and offered me dinner. I was not too pleased to have been awakened and I declined dinner.

Yes, u will get fed dinner. In biz class they will sometimes offer a fast meal (or something of that nature) where they feed u a different meal and all the courses at once if that's what u would like. Or u can skip the dinner meal altogether.
Enjoy BA!

I agree with the other posters. In first class and biz class they will ask you in advance if you would like to be awakened for meals. My favorite place on a biz class flight is upstairs in a 747 - very quiet and comfortable.

It would be nice if they asked beforehand in cattle class. I've had several flights where I've managed to get to sleep just for me to be woken up a bit later by a stewardess asking me if I want to eat

This why I heart All Nippon Airways. If you are sleeping during meal service, even in coach class, they do not wake you - instead they make a note of your seat number and then, without any prompting, come by every so often to see if you are awake and then bring you the meal then!

I agree with you about serving dinner so late when you want to sleep. A recent business class trip on Malaysia Airlines from KL to Sydney involved being served a magnifent and long winded dinner service at about 10.30 pm when all I wanted to do was sleep. Now I can understand economy passengers wanting dinner because who could sleep in economy! By the time they finally turned off the interior cabin lights about 90 minutes had passed... we had about4 hours sleep, then they turned on the lights again 90 mins before landing in Sydney. Frustrating but all you can do is try and sleep anyway. Just tell the flight attendants that you do not wish to be woken up.

All good suggestions - reporting back. No chance of sleep until meal service had ended - all cabin lights blazing, lots of conversation among passengers and to FA. No one was sleeping. On the other hand, half of passengers slept thru breakfast service which was handled with amazing efficiency and quiet by FA.
Still, great flight. Rarely get to fly business and will be difficult to fly coach on longer flights now.

You are all so lucky to be able to sleep!!! I have the worst time sleeping on a plane. We leave this tuesday for Italy at 5:25p.m. will serve dinner/breakfast. I will be awake through it all. I am thinking of taking "something."
