Any way to tell which UA flights offer the new lie flat seats in Biz?

Working on booking a trip to the US from Singapore via NRT and SFO or NRT and LAX.

UA still had the old business class seats when I last flew these routes in May.

Any way of finding out which routes have the new seats?

All 747s (and 767s) have new seats. Most UA-operated 777s don't. Therefore, for flights to SIN, stick with 747s and not 777s.

As far as I can tell, all 777's on my longhaul routing, which is what I was afraid of. I don't think I want to pay $2,900 for a flights in those crappy old seats.

Do a search at united.com for your dates in business class and in the results click on "View seats".

The new style shows 777 business class has four seats in the middle (2x4x2) and has an icon that shows the direction that the seats face.

The old style 777 is 2x3x2 (three in the middle) and plain ole seat icons.

per-sin-ord-cos-ord-sin-per is 25375 United EQMs. SIN-ORD stops in HKG and is a 747, so has the new biz seats (if your upgrade clears).

Thanks again mrwunrfl. You've been great, you really have.

No upgrades through Hong Kong when I checked with UA this morning, but I only checked a week's worth of dates. I'm so disgusted with this whole thing right now I might just stay home.

HKG-SIN is switching to CO's 738 with domestic First Class later this year.

That change is on Oct 30, after the OP's October trip.

I think that my recco for going via HKG would tend to reduce your chances of getting an upgrade vs via NRT simply because your competition also prefers the new seats.
