ANA Intl Business Class

I'm flying HNL-PEK via NRT
then HKG to NRT
and finally NRT to HNL in the spring. I am trying to buy economy and upgrade to business on either ana or united as I have united ff miles.ANA is a little cheaper but who has the best seats and service(I know probably not possible to expect much service) in business class on these routes?

Aloha!

Looks like the ANA flight (HNL-NRT) would probably be a 767 with 2-1-2 seating in their "Club ANA Asia" style.

I saw "probably" because the ANA website shows in-flight info for three months. Maybe they use different equipment at different times of year, maybe not. And a 767 for NRT-PEK. The ANA flight to NRT has digital AVOD with games. If you go to fly-ana.com and click on In-Flight then use the "search sevice" you can get a good idea of what the flight would be like.

United has a 777 HNL-NRT which is better than the UA 767 which is 2x2x2. Does UA still fly between NRT and PEK?

Upgrading the ANA flight would require a Y or B fare. Upgrading on UA would require Y,B,M or H fare.

mahalo bill.....no ua doesn't fly the nrt/pek route they hand it off to ana so if i go with ua I'll still have to fly ana nrt/pek. ua also has a hnl/kix/icn/pek but too many stops and time is a few hours more. Thanks for the fare options, kuranosuke was right you are the ua/star alliance guru. Although ana has fewer options their prices are lower, strange.

Aloha!

If the ANA Y/B fare is lower than United's Y/B/M/H fares, then that would make it an easy decision for me.

I've never been on ANA's 767 but was on ANA's 777 SFO-NRT few times. The Club ANA seat was comfortable and the service was good but the food was disappointed, even the Japaness meals.

I was on UA's 777 NRT-HNL many times. The business class seat's comfortable and the service was good. The food was better than I expected, I especailly loved the steak dish. Everytime I take this flight, I always request seat 13A,B,H or J.

For info on best seats, you can go to

On UA with a Y or B fare you would earn 50% bonus EQM. That would be 3818 bonus EQMs for HNL-NRT-HNL. That is worth considering if the fares are close and you really need the EQM.
