AMERICAN BUSINESS CLASS???
I am about to fly NY to London in Business Class on an American 777. I usually fly airlines with two classes of service Continental and Virgin) so their Business Class is more like First. What can I expect in Business on a 3-class flight? How is the legroom? I've been assigned an aisle bulk head. Is that a good choice in Bisoness or am I better off futher back? ANy feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, business & first class are pretty much the same except 1st only has about 10 passengers in their area & gets served food & snacks the whole time. Business had a more limited menu (yet the same meals as first) and more people. I don't know about the seats in business if they are the full sleepers or not. But legroom is ample. Hope this is helps!

When I booked my seats I was surprised to find bulk head aisle (Row 10) available. Is it less desirable on this aircraft than others--less legroom? I thought it would be better as I wouldn't have a seat back coming down in front of me. Any thoughts? Thanks.

No, legroom will be the same. Sometimes people don't like to look at the divider or think they won't be able to see the movie projector screen. But I'm pretty sure all of AA planes is business now have personal portable DVD players, if not you will get your own. But I do think the projector screen is obsolete now on those planes.

AA usually has the TransAtlantic configuration for the 777 on your route. There is a significant difference between first and business. IMO primarily the fully flat sleeper seats, the food and the 8mm movie selections. First has 4 rows of 4 seats for 16. Business has 6 rows of 7 (2/3/2) for 42. Avoid the bulkhead if you are 6'2" or more as the leg room is not as good and closest to the Galley/Lavs. I prefer row 10 on even numbered flights and row 13 on odd as they take food orders front to back on even and back to front on odd. You'll have the inseat fold up video screens with selections of movies and other programs. Bose headphones will be provided. The worst seat IMO is E as there are seats on either side of you. When I travel alone I usually try D or G aisle (I like aisle) and hope nobody sits in E - check the seat maps at aa.com.
Have a good trip!

We've been assigned row 9 bulkhead on an AA 777 transatlantic and I'm wondering if you know, Dick, whether that row (or any of the BusClass rows) is actually "at" a window and not a blank wall. Someone told me they were surprised that sometimes bulkhead "window" seats are actually next to a blank wall because of where the galley or door is. For reasons that would bore you (unless you want to go read that other silly thread about window shades), I need to be able to see out -- yes, even at night, I can orient if need be with stars, ship lights.
Would appreciate info re:non-window window seats in AA BusClass. Thanks.

I can't remember specifics of windows but it seemed like all rows had windows but there is a section (I guess where there is more structure or seam) where the wall is wider without a window. I'm an aisle guy now but go to www.flyertalk.com and at the AA forum either search for 777 windows or post your questions. Lots of smart folks there - and here!
