airfare.com

Has anyone used airfare.com to book a flight? The airfare to costa rica for 4 people is over $200 less than using another place like cheaptickets.

The initial search results at airfare.com don't include tax. Once you click "Book Now" you'll find the final price. Many of the other sites like that of cheaptickets that you mentioned will include final price, while some of the consolidators often don't show final until you select the flight.

Other Fodorites, may have further insight into this inquiry but this has been my observation.

Hope it helps...

When I press book now, the price including tax is $200 less than other sites. Have you used airfare.com before?

Nope, sorry haven't used it to buy. Just when checking some of my frequent european routes I found them to be $10/$15 higher than Cheaptickets or some of the other sites I've visited. Perhaps different due to the route being Costa Rica or some special offered by an airline.

My favs when comparing fares are:
itasoftware.com
kayak.com
sidestep.com
mobissimo.com

Maybe check against those. Otherwise, I defer to others that have used the site in question or travel to Costa Rica where I have not.

Good Luck and I Wish I could have been more help!

Yes, airfare.com is one of the many sites we search at PriceGrabber.com Travel. Though I haven't used them personally, we have never received a complaint about them.
