FainaAgain - I just felt like flying to S.F. because I didn't want to drive myself (don't want to deal with parking) or burdening someone to drive me. I think there's a shuttle from Sac to S.F., but I heard it's a big pain. The only shuttle I use is to get myself from my house to the Sac airport!

Sunshine, I was surprised there IS a plane to fly such a short distance, that's all. If it's easier for you, by all means, fly, why not?
And it must be cheaper to fly all the way then to use a shuttle. As a budget traveler I would consider this.
