3 hours Stansted connection sufficient?
Looking into Maxjet from JFK to Stansted. I don't believe they have baggage agreements with airlines like EasyJet. Do you think that one can arrive at 8:30am, go through customs, get baggage and then check in to Easy Jet in time for an 11:30am flight out? How does one find out the on-time arrival record of MaxJet? Thanks.

3 hours should NORMALLY be more than sufficient
HOWEVER, Easyjet like most low costs airlines close their checkin PRECISELY at the stated time - 40 minutes before scheduled deaprture time - so your 3 hours is 2h2m
HOWEVER, unlike other low costs airlines Easyjet do allow you to get a later flight if there is a later flight that day to the same destination, there are seats available on the flight and you get to their desk within 2 hours of your original departure time - it's intended for the business market so do a search of their business information on their website

I've heard the opposite with EasyJet. Their FAQ on their web site does not suggest you can expect this:

See #8 Check-in.

I take that back - there's mention of the exception Alan mentions under Flight Transfers:

You can also change to an earlier flight for FREE - subject to seats being available
