What's up with this web site's home page?

For a week or more the home page of this site has looked very weird. Is it just me and my browser or does everyone see the problem? Everything is bunched up to the left - hard to separate topics with the eye. Once you click on a topic, the next page looks normal (like it used to). Can the site administrators address this, as it does not appear to be a self correcting problem.

That happened only once with me. Weird-looking for sure! Hasn't happened but the one time.

I don't have the problem. You should probably click on the little exclamation point in the triangle and send a note to the editors.

Hi Cateyes555

What browser are you using? This sometimes happens to me when I use Mozilla - but if I download the updated version the web page returns to normal.

Otherwise try using different browsers IE or Chrome and see if that makes a difference.

I was having a problem last week although not the same as yours. When I went to the "Forums" page there were no subjects to select listed. An e-mail to Fodors and I was told they had been working on the website and some other people were having the same problem. I was instructed to press F5 which solved the problem. Not saying this would work for you but it could be a problem they have caused and not yours.

Hi Cateyes555,

As Louise said above, pressing F5 should help solve the problem. You can also try reloading the page or pressing shift and the reload button together. This should take care of it. Please email me ([email protected]) if you need any further help.

Yep, was a short term problem during or after some site maintenance, I think.

If F5 doesn't work, try CTRL + F5 for a forced refresh.

I had the problem, before going to the Forums Help forum, where I found, buried in a string of responses, the advice to press F5. You'da thunk they'd have made the fix a little more obvious.

F5 is Refresh and a really useful button. I've had some other sites where I click on a link to access a different page and end up with a mostly blank page. Hitting F5 usually gives me the full page. F5 strikes me as being a cure-all, sort of like aspirin.

Cat Eyes, F5 is the standard shortcut to refresh on all web browsers, has been since very early on... it's a good one to have in your knowledge bank.

And Control + Refresh does a complete reload on some browsers, which sometimes works when a regular refresh doesn't, though that may not be universal to all browsers...
