Silverback Safari Lodge?!?!

Agent is proposing a change from Buhoma Homestead to Silverback Safari Lodge. Says can get a better rate. Anyone stayed at Silverback or both? I know Buhoma has a fantastic reputation but know nothing about Silverback.

Thanks.

Div's link is to the Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge in Rwanda -- the nicest of available lodgings there but very pricey (we were quoted a supplemental $415/ppn). They are reportedly building a similar lodge in Uganda, due to open at the end of the year. When are you going? If it's close to the opening date, I might be concerned about delays in opening or about construction noise related to putting on the finishing touches? Maybe your agent can advise?

Not sure if you are referring to the one in Rwanda or the one being built? in Uganda.

In Rwanda - It is the best place to stay. We stayed there too early in their nascence (almost one year ago). But now it probably is fully operational and wonderful.

Uganda - we are scheduled for Fall 2009 at the Gorilla Forest Lodge. And we will wait for any updates on another Governor's Camp opening.

It's the brand new one in Uganda, not the Sabyinyo in Rwanda. Since it's new, not much info.

We are going next June.
