Secrets of the Savannah - new book by Mark and Delia Owens

I'm always on the prowl for books about Africa. I've read both Eye of the Elephant and Cry of the Kalahari...can't wait until this one comes out in June! Perhaps it'll be available for me to take as reading material when I leave June 25 for Kenya and Tanzania.

Hi Calo,
Haven't seen anything about the new book - I'll look for it though. Where does it take place? I just started Cry of the Kalahari and am having a hard time putting it down - Delia and Mark are so brave and ahead of the times. I also read Eye of the Elephant and found it heartbreaking.
Good luck reading and dreaming of Africa. You'll fall in love with both Kenya and Tanzania.
Enjoy!
Sherry

Calo,
Some other books you might find interesting:

Coming of Age with Elephants by Joyce Poole

The Shadow of Kilimanjaro by Rick Ridgeway

No Man’s Land by George Monbiot

Delia & Mark Owens Spring / Summer 2006 Lecture Schedule:

http://www.owens-foundation.org/docs/tourschedule.pdf

I will definitely be either at their June 10th lecture in Acton (about 20 miles shy of Palmdale) or at their June 16th lecture at the San Diego Zoo.

While I enjoyed both of their books, given my passion for Zambia, Eye of the Elephant is my personal favorite.

Hmmm...wonder if they will not be selling their new book during these lectures? I would think so.

Nyamera...thank you! I've read Eye of the Elephant but not the other 2.

Rocco...I'd love to hear them speak, but it looks as though they aren't coming to Canada. I am going to hear Jane Goodall when she's here in a few weeks, however.
