October trip to Knya, Tanzania and Uganda

WOW what a great trip!!!! Traveled in October with United Travel Group. Everything went so well and loved it all. The lodges were great, food was good and local tour guides used were Rangers and Pollmans. Both were very good. Best part of the trip was my side adventure to Ngamba Island in Uganda which I booked thru their own travel site on-line. I just cant say enough about the place and how much I loved it. Had wonderful encounters with all the wildlife in both Kenya and Tanzania. Loved Amboseli and the lodge Ol Tukai. Most of the other lodges were Sopa and they were good. Weather was great and everything went off without a hitch. Happy to answer any questions from future travelers.

Dorish,
Thanks for reporting back. I'm glad you had such a wonderful trip.

How did you arrange your transportation to/from Ngamba Island?

Any tips on packing/cameras/weather? Was Uganda very hot?

Welcome home. Glad it went so well, I recall you asking about Rangers and Pollmans. Is a return in your future?

Glad you had a great trip! Did you go anywhere else in Uganda other than Ngamba Island?

My tour for Kenya and Tanzania was booked with United Travel Group and I had to book seperately for Uganda thru Ngamba Island's own tour company. They helped me with the travel arrangements.
I was there from 10-2-06 thru 10-22-06.
I found the weather fine. It was in the low 80's but the sun was stronger than at home. No problem at all with insects. I will say that it took some planning to arrange for the extra trip to Ngamba Island but it was so well worth it!!!! Also quite expensive with all the necessary shots and extra plane fare and accommodations for the island and boat trip to island..it all added up. Still worth it!!!

Hi Dorish 34,

I know it's been a while since you commented on the United Travel Group so hopefully you still use this website. Your review is the only review I have been able to find on this company. It's been really hard to find any information on this company other than their own website. Can you tell me any more about the company or information you found on them before you took the trip? Did you have any problems or issues with the company or the booking? My friend and I are about to book the "Best of Tanzania" safari with them for March and we are trying to find out information to make sure they are a good company. Thank you!

Hey funigrl and dorish34....my wife and I are planning our first trip to Tanzania next late spring. Would love to hear as you progress and am very interested in the "tour" vs. individual planning options.

Thanks and Happy New Year!
