Hotels in Tel Aviv
We have the opportunity to stay at the Renaissance Hotel in Tel Aviv at NO Charge to us- ( it will be paid for by a business associate) Is it a nice hotel or should we pay ourselves and stay at a different hotel? If so any recommendations? Needless to say, we prefer not to have to pay- if the Renaissance is a clean comfortable hotel. Any opinions??? Thanks
Also who has the best breakfast in Tel Avov?

The Renaissance is a nice hotel - much more than just clean and comfortable. If you have the choice of staying there on someone else's tab I would definitely go for it. The location is great and you will not be sorry about your decision.
Not sure why you are asking about breakfasts. Hotels in Israel (almost completely across the board) include breakfast with the room. Israeli hotel breakfasts are something completely different than what you may expect - large, expansive buffets with eggs, cheeses, breads, cakes, salads, hot dishes, and more - if you take full advantage of the breakfast you probably won't want to look at food again until supper.

Great Hotel right on the beach GO for it!
www.booking.com › Israel › Tel Aviv
Rating: 7.9/10 - 147 reviews
The Renaissance Tel Aviv is right on the beach. The hotel offers a wellness centre with indoor swimming pool, and rooms with views of the sea, the marina...
Hotel breakfasts generally best travel.state.gov
for issues open air tourist cafes have been "soft targets"
Avoid those but overall quite safe for savy travelers.
insuremytrip.com always wise for me...

Have no idea why you brought in the State Dept "warnings" they are known for being out of touch, exaggerated and do not paint a realistic picture at all. since you brought it up - please tell me the last time there was an incident at an open air cafe? It's been years. So why bring up something that no one asked and is not a risk.

Oreet,
I'm with you on this one. The state department "warnings" concerning Israel are ridiculous!
There are open air cafes everywhere so it would be difficult to avoid them anyway.
Eat outdoors and enjoy!

I'm with you both. Having visited Israel three yrs straight. We have eaten in open air cafes many times in both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem as well as other places. In fact one of the best places in Tel Aviv to eat is the old pier area. The state dept would have you believe the only safe places to visit is at epcot in disneyworld. Enjoy your trip.

mavip, if you hotel special does not include breakfast (Oreet--friends have sometimes stayed at the upscale TA and Jerusalem hotels on special rates and breakfast was NOT include. I was surprised too). I though the breakfasts at the Carlton and somewhat suprisingly the Dan Panorama (which is a little less fancy hotel) were both great.
If you don't want the big hotel buffets (which are pretty expensive if you go as an outsider). my friends in Tel Aviv love Benedict, an all day breakfast place. Coming from the U.S. I was less interested in having eggs benedict etc (non-kosher restaurant) so I didn't eat there. Not cheap either , but it should be less than the buffets.
