Good Earth Tours

Returned July 5, 2008 from a week long trip with Good Earth Tours. Paul was our driver guide and we couldn't be more pleased. We were a family of four, 3 generations, and the luxury of having our own vehicle and guide was the only way to go. The trip was perfect. Spent the first night at New Arusha Hotel which worked out great because my daughter's luggage didn't arrive from Amsterdam and we were close to a shop this next morning for clothes.. Day 2 was Swala Camp, day 3 Lake Manyara Serena Lodge (our least favorite) too large and food wasn't good. Day 4 Ngorongoro Farm House (beautiful and great food) day 5 Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp. Days 6 and 7 Migration Camp. Animals were abundant, weather perfect and the whole experience top notch.

Hi - I just saw your review - we had Paul right after you - he's great hunh? Sounds like you had a nice trip! I wish we'd done Migration Camp instead of the Serena in central Serengeti...

Yes, Paul was great. How fun that you had him also. I trust you didn't have an 8 year old with you that asked a thousand questions. Paul was so patient. Hope you also had a wonderful time.

Believe me by the time I got done asking Paul all my questions he was wishing he had your 8 year old back! He was amazingly patient and we had an unforgettable time!

deanandfran, SML1,
I'm glad to hear you all had a great time with Good Earth! We leave Denver July 29 for our trip with them. (I'll be traveling with an 8 yr old, cleverly disguised as a 5'9" 41 yr old.) Wow, I wish I'd been able to go on a safari when I was 8. What a wonderful adventure!

We're skipping Manyara in favor of Tarangire, and staying in the tents at Tarangire Safari Lodge. Our splash out camps are Sayari and Migration. The others are Serena Lodges, finishing up with a day room at the New Arusha Hotel.

I know you all just returned, but if you've had time to sort through your thoughts about your trips, we'd appreciate any tips you have to offer.
