Blogging from Africa - Liz and Richard's 2010 Adventures!
We're off to Africa next week - will be blogging as power generators permit!
Here's the link

Itinerary is:
* first two weeks in Tanzania (via Nairobi) - a visit to Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and then 5 nights in mobile camps to see the migration in the Serengeti (yes, Liz and Dick in tents! That should be good for a lot of laughs)
* then we're off to Rwanda to trek to see the Mountain Gorillas
* at the end of January we retire to our lovely rental house in Simon's Town (south of Cape Town) for 3 weeks - to visit wineries, see penguins and do laundry!
* then....we move on to Namibia where we have rented a 4x4 and will drive vast distances in 3 weeks, culminating in a 3 day river cruise in Botswana and then Victoria Falls, before we return to Toronto mid March
Thanks to all the many posters who have helped me plan the trip!
Best regards
Liz and Richard

In Nairobi after 32 hours of travel - note to Delta - do not consider Paris to Cairo to Nairobi a connection. Cairo doesn't.
Spent a lot of time transferring terminals in Cairo (the story will get funnier as time passes so I'll wait - kind of like the pain of childbirth goes away, I presume) we were unable to see Ahmed. He waited at Terminal 1 for us for a couple of hours but eventually it was obvious it wasn't going to happen.
At the Holiday Inn Nairobi which is quite lovely and the staff is terrific - room ready at 8am - yea!
Off to Tanzania tomorrow - don't know when the next wi-fi connection will happen though.
