Best place to honeymoon in Mozambique?
We have about 4 nights during our honeymoon that we would like to spend relaxing on a beach in Mozambique. What is the best honeymoon-type resort (luxurious, private, etc.)?
Also, is it easier to get there from Nairobi or JNB? Most airlines seem to fly to Pemba only a couple of times a week.

my first choice would definately be VAMIZI . and between may and nov i would do a combo of VAMIZI and NIASSA (safari)- both nomad safaris tanzania
yes you must fly into pemba and adjust your plans to meet scheduled flights.
another great place is medjumbe (rani resorts) also via pemba.

You can also easily access the stunning islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago via Vilanculos on convenient flights from Johannesburg, and a few days a week directly from the Kruger area. That's only about 1/3rd of the way up from the southern border of Mozambique and very easy to reach. If coming from a safari in Kenya or Tanzania than going through Pemba where you can do the nothern islands. Spectacular either way and can combine easy coming from safaris in East or Southern Africa.

i agree - Vamizi is by far the best and they have a plane that flies from Dar to the island itself 3 times per week
don't rely on LAM from Nairobi as it is so unreliable and only gets you as far as Pemba

it is a nomad plane (technically operated by TFC). It is stationed to simply ply the Dar - Vamizi -Dar route, however it can connect with Sand Rivers Selous which is also Nomads.
All the other nomad properties are either in the North or West of the country and are too far away to be combinable with Vamizi without an overnight in Darhope this helps
