Has anyone stayed at Kasbah Bab Ourika?
We are trying to decide between staying at Kasbah du Toubkal and Kasbah Bab Ourika while in Morocco. We have two nights but really only one full day to hike. We then move on to Marrakesh.
One of our group is worried that Kasbah Bab Ourika isn't special enough in terms of views, etc. since it is so close to Marrakesh. Can anyone comment? Thanks!

Sallam 'lekum losaltos,
Previous travelers of ours have stayed at both. The general consensus was that Kasbah Bab Ourika trumped Kasbah du Toubkal for intimate service and a 5-star feeling, while Kasbah du Toubkal offered better hiking and seemed more 'local'. Both properties offer majestic mountain views. Personally, I prefer Kasbah du Toubkal because of their unwavering commitment to the villages of the valley/mountains. They've been there for years and have always considered the needs/desires of the local villages in everything they offer to visitors. The kasbah is the major player behind "Education for All" (www.efamorocco.org) but they keep a very low profile about it, such is their commitment for the locals to be in the spotlight.
