Zanzibar 3 days and Dar Es Salaam 4 days

Hello Forum members, we are traveling to Tanzania this month. I am going a little bit ahead (3 days) as could take time off unlike rest of group and would be going on my own to Zanzibar as want to do bit of diving and see crystal blue waters. And rest of group arriving little later. We ideally have 4 days after they land in Dar es Salaam.

Dear forum members It would be fantastic if you could help me with my/our itinerary.
1. Zanzibar (3 days) what to do in Zanzibar and where to stay. Is there diving center you can recommend connected to some hotel, so I dont have to do much investigating and its easy to arrange.
2. Dar Es Salaam area (4 days) same what to do and where to stay, what to see in those 4 days. Any safari agencies you can recommend? We are on medium budget so something decent but reasonably priced (no need for luxury, but also not backpacker budget this time . Surely we want to do most of things and do best safari with great views and animals and other fun things.

Appreciate your advice and time for writing them in advance.

There is a great tour company in Zanzibar that I could recommend called Indoma Tours. They would have recommendations for Dar, as well. Probably the best safari experience out of Dar would be Selous N.P.

For the best safari get out of Dar. I don't know the exact distance (and too lazy to look it up) but travel will take a huge chunk out of the day.

For the best experience, one should spend at least a night in a lodge, preferably IN a park, where one can absorb the serenity of the night, the sounds of the night, and knowing there are wild animals just beyond your reach (and sometimes right outside your room!).

Consider an overnight or, worlds better, a two night trip which will give you a full day to enjoy the sunrise and subset, when most activity occurs.

Plus there's not all that much to do or see in Dar anyway.

Hi , there

For Zanzibar i recommend you to stay at North coast rather than in Stone town , and the place for you to stay and enjoying the white beach is Nungwi at Flame Tree Cottage ( I had nights at this cottage before and everything was brilliant , and most of their rooms are close to the beach ) . And for diving or snorkelling you can read some information on this site , they use to arrange sea excursions and diving as well , but for diving make sure you have diving certificate or training before ! .

ANd in Dar es Salaam , the place which you can stay and explore the city easily its city centre at Labour view hotel or Holiday inn . ANd you can arrange some safari trips from this site i used before , hope some of these info will help .
