What to see in Rabat? How many days?

Hi,

Reading the travel books, looks like Rabat has many sites. However, it is not
talked about as much as Fez & Marrakech in travel forums.

I was thinking of a day and a half in Rabat. Is that enough?

Looks like these are must-sees:
- Medina and Souqs
- Hassan Tower
- Mohommad V Mausoleum
- Archeological museum

What about the following? Are they worth a visit? They sound interesting.

- Kasbah de Oudaya
- Exterior of Royal Palace – May allow us inside?
- Chellah

Thanks.

Definitely make time for the Kasbah and Chellah. I'm not so convinced about the Royal Palace - when I was there you certainly weren't allowed inside. I thought Rabat was a pleasant, low-key introduction to Morocco, and definitely worth two full days (three nights).

For my visit to Rabat see http://www.fodors.com/community/afri...can-medley.cfm - photos at http://kwilhelm.smugmug.com/Travel/L...d-Morocco-2008

Thanks for the input. I will make the Rabat stay to two full
days then.

I have been refering to your trip report and have seen
the Rabat and Casablanca pictures. Thanks for
the full link of pictures, did not have that. I will check
the rest of the places. It helped me for Rabat and
Casablanca.

Don't miss the Kasbah Oudayas! And try to take in the evening promenade along Rue Mohamed V.
