Lynn, At the risk of sounding truly paranoid, I also have a trick for remembering not to 'drink' the water in the shower -- I chew gum while showering. Of course, this only works if you normally chew gum with your mouth closed. If you are an open-mouthed chewer you are on your own. And after the first night or two I got over my shower paranoia, and gave up on the gum trick.

I dont worry about taking in a bit of shower water but here is a solution.

Rinse with 40% proof sprit for 30 seconds - All bacteria dead. Chew gum for a clean fresh feeling.
