Weight restriction on Kenya/Tanzania airlines

Does anyone know if the weight restriction per person is 15kg on the domestic flights to various camps- Safari Air, Precision etc.

Yup, it's 15Kg on intra-country flights... Air Kenya, Safarilink, Fly 540, Mombasa Air, etc. Or Precision, Coastal and Regional in Tanzania.

Inter-country (between K & T) some allow 20Kg.

But to be safe, stick to as close to 15Kg. though overweight fees, if they insist on assessing are per Kg at about $4/per kg.

Sandi- That weight is for just the one checked bag not your carry on, correct?

That's for "checked" bag that goes in small compartment under plane.

You're allowed a small carry-on along with camera to take in cabin. However, if these two appear heavy, they may weigh and if total is "way" over the limit, might try to assess excess fee. So just be careful.

We once saw a group of divers try getting around weight restrictions by wearing their BCs complete with weights in the pockets on board a flight. OMG!
