SAA Question on First Class....

Does anyone know if SAA is an airline that offers passengers to pay a fee to be bumped up to first class if there are empty seats?

Most do, though in my experience empty seats are few and far between, and usually passengers with business tickets (paid for) or frequent flyers will get priority.

They probably upgrade their frequent flyers as napamatt suggests. Couldn't hurt to call ahead, though.

They'd also upgrade anybody flying in full-fare Y before the hoi polloi.
