typhoid vaccine for Kruger?

How necessary is a typhoid vaccine before going to Kruger? We reached out to each of our family physicians for malaria meds, and three docs said that's all we need until the last one, who strongly suggested that my daughter get the typhoid vaccine too. I didn't see anything about that online or on this forum while doing research. Would love thoughts about this.

I urge you to consult the CDC website.

Always best to seek advice from medical professionals regarding medical issues rather than strangers on a travel forum , but it seems your doctors have provided only very limited advice . I would get a second opinion or check out your own country's medical advisories for travel to South Africa - here is the one for the UK NHS https://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/dest...a#Vaccinations .

DISCLAIMER : I am not a doctor but a South African living in Cape Town who goes to Kruger at least once a year. I have only ever taken meds for prevention of malaria. I have never heard of anyone having the Typhoid vaccine to enter Kruger. Hygiene is good there.

Thank you everyone! I reached out to our tour guide who confirmed that in Jozi and within the park (the only places we'll be) we're ok without typhoid.
