Transfers b/w Camps in Botswana

We'll be staying at three different camps in Botswana and I was wondering if the air transfers are scheduled first thing in the morning, or do we have a chance to do the morning drive before transfering to the next camp? Any insight would be appreciated.

I just came from there and the flights were scheduled the night before our move. It depended on the schedule ahead for the plane that day. One time we transferred around 3PM, causing us to miss the afternoon activity. We left that camp then at 8AM, causing us to miss the morning activity. The incoming plane may very well be bringing supplies since it is too wet to drive them to many camps. It varies from day to day.
Also rather than the real early activities, we all had a full breakfast together and then went out on the morning activity. Not too much going on at O-dark-100. We really enjoyed getting up at 6:30 and going to breakfast at 7. As the game patterns change in the camps areas this will probably change. Liz

We had transfers as early as 10:30am and as late as 1:30pm.
On the 10:30 transfer, they were going to bring us back to camp to clean up / get ready before departed. Instead - we completely packed before our morning drive. Then we went on the game drive and had them pick us up on the drive and take us directly to the air stip. This saved over an hour - which we used on the morning activity.

We learned that if you ask for something special - 75% of the time it can be arranged. They were very accomodating on our requests for extra afternoon drives, longer morning drives, afternoon boat trips, etc. If you have a request - make in known and they will do their best to make it happen.

We just got back last week....all our transfers were mid-day, so we got to do the AM drive in one and were there in time for the PM drive in the next. They told us the evening before when our flight would be. It was much wetter when Liz was there and I can only imagine how they had to arrange things to cope with that situation! The roads must be improving as on one drive at Nxabega we met the petrol guy toward the end of his 5-hour drive from Maun. Still, I thought how lucky we were to be able to fly between these places.
