Thanks for the update Roccco...I'm just worried that a $700 20D is hot (as in stolen!)...or a bait and switch...or just does not exist at all. I doubt you could even get a legitimate used 20D for this, let alone new with warranty.

I've mentally added the "cheers" on!
LOL
Fair enough, let's just agree to disagree.
I think that there are many more factors affecting a beginner's results than L glass/ not L glass and they'd be better spending money saved (most non L glass lenses are less than their direct L glass equivalents) on accessories such as polarising filters, classes or books, more time on holiday...
I don't disagree for a minute that there isn't a benefit to L glass - just that if you images are poorly exposed, poorly composed, poorly focused etc, the fact that they were taken with L glass ain't gonna make 'em any better!

Be wary of too-good-to-be-true prices on auction sites. There have been scams where people have spent say a year building up their ratings by selling tiny items for tiny prices. Then, they put up for sale a whole list of expensive items, people bid assuming they are a safe vendor, and they take the money and run. Alternatively they send stolen gear.

THANK YOU MV! I would have asked folks on here if they've ever dealt with whoever I decide to buy from, but wow, what a shocker. Really, thanks a bunch.

Ok folks, I will have to eat my words on this cheaper Canon 20D stuff. I also just looked into digital liquidators and they also get horrible ratings on their service. I guess if it seems too good to be true it probably is.
