To Tangier or elsewhere or not?
We're planning a three or four week trip to Andalucia. (See First & Likely Only Trip to Spain)
We thought we'd include a one day, two night quick visit to Tangier as a companion to the Moorish history of Anadalucia. But lots of people are suggesting eliminating that, and many suggesting deferring that to a future Morocco trip. But ... at our age (a young and energetic 75) and our variety of interests, we unfortunately doubt if we'd ever get there before we run out of time/energy.
So we thought we'd ask for thoughts on the Morocco forum. Is it worth it to spent 2 nights, 1 day in Tangier?
We could possibly, maybe, with some reluctance, cut some things from our Anadalucia travels, to spend a maximum of 3 nights, 2 days, or with difficulty 4 nights, 3 days in Morocco. Would it be worthwhile to do that, and how would you suggest we use that time?

Yes of course you should. Andalucia is a huge region, so where will you be travelling from? The best ferry crossing is using FRS ( http://www.frs.es/en ) going from Tarifa to Tanger Ville. Buy your ticket at the FRS booth at Algeciras ferry port (if you are coming from that direction) and hop onto the free shuttle bus to Tarifa.
Stay at Hotel Continental or Hotel Rembrandt.

The alternative would be to fly from Seville to Marrakech for a longer stay, see https://www.ryanair.com/flights/gb/e...e-to-marrakesh

Another option is where I've stayed, more intimate than Hotel Continental (I don't know Hotel Rembrandt), the beautifully located La Tangerina: LaTangerina hotel
If a more upscale experience appeals, I was treated wonderfully when I lunched at Hotel El Minzah, not always the case for a solo woman of a particular age. So I expect staying there would be a very good option. It's outside the medina, very central in the Ville Nouvelle.
I obviously agree with the post above, to spend as much time as you can carve out of your Spain visit for Morocco. If only Tangier, take the ferry from Tarifa as mentioned and stay 2 or 3 nights. If you decide to make more time, then the flight to Marrakech makes sense, although for an extra night or 2 combined with Tangier, consider Chefchaouen, recognizable from photos as the blue town.
