The Best of Africa
The cover story in this month's (September 2005) National Geographic Adventure magazine is "The Best of Africa" with stories on 25 Surefire Adventures You Can Do Now, Classic Journeys and Unique Safaris. It just arrived in my mailbox so I havent' read it yet, but it looks interesting.

Kavey,
No doubt you can get this at Stanford's. I also know that the Borders book chain stocks this periodic - I see it regularly in Kingston-on-Thames, along with the Africa Geographic, which I buy every month. By the way, each copy of A.G. costs £3.60, which is cheaper than paying by subscription to the publisher!!

GovPhil, yes I know but the problem is that sometimes I'm down in Central London all the time and other times I'm hardly there at all - I was finding that it had often sold out by the time I'd get there etc. Decided to pay the extra to get it direct!
Good news about the National Geographic Adventure one - will await Michael's verdict and may pop over to get one when next in town...

I flipped through it last night, and it DOES NOT live up to the hype (it doesn't focus on 25 adventures throughout the continent, but a few well-known trips in a few countries). I wouldn't make a special trip to find it, but if you see it, its worth the few dollars.
