Tanzania Trip Report Oct 4-20 w Roy's

I read this message board daily preparing for our trip and thought I'd return the favour by posting a brief descrip of our trip

Operator: Roy's Safari. Very professional operation, everything went as planned. Susan Wood (Amer contact) helped us plan our trip. Guide Raphael S. was excellent over the course of our 14 day safari

Parks Visited: Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara, Serengetti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire--then finished in Zanzibar. Our favourite by far was the Serengetti--we spent 5 days there and loved it--found the sheer scope of the landscape amazing.

Accommodation--Ngrudoto Mountain Lodge, Kirirumu, Mbuze Mawi, Ngorongoro Farmhouse, Gibbs Farm, Kikoti, Breezes (escuse the misspellings!). No complaints with any of the places we stayed, but our favourite was Mbzue (we were there 5 nights). Great staff and food! A fantastic trip overall.

How was Gibbs Farm and the Ng Farmhouse.? Not sure whether to stay at one of these or splurge and stay at Ngorongor Crater Lodge.

I just returned from a trip where we spent 2 days at the ngorogoro crater serena lodge, and also 2 days at Gibbs.

In some ways, Gibbs was my favorite lodge of the trip, but that is because of the contrast. You don't really go there for game viewing, you go there for an oasis! wonderful food, relaxing scenery, and the friendliest staff.

But it wouldn't be convenient to do a crater drive from Gibbs.

Chewyhead is looking for comparisons between Gibbs Farm and Ng Farmhouse, probably stumbed across this year-old thread that mentions both places after a search, and brought it back to life ...
