Tanzania Safari
My husband and I are looking to go on a Safari next September in Tanzania. We are looking at 7ish day tours (we are a little flexible) with a price of no more than $5000 per person. We want to go to the Serengeti, see the Ngorongoro Crater and the Tarangire National Park. There are a lot of tour companies available, but as this will be our first time to Africa, we don't have experience with which tour companies are good. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good tour company they have used?

Hi! My husband and I did a Tanzania safari in Sept/Oct. of 2023. We went with Access2Tanzania after a lot of research and were very happy with them. Another outfit I was considering is Wild Source. Both companies are US based.
We started with the Serengeti, then onto Ngorongoro and finally Tarangire. We spent 12 days. Note that your first day/first half day will be in Arusha before you head out on safari. Same thing for the last day since most flights tend to be in the evening. 7 days is a little tight since you have to account for travel.
We got to customize our trip (where we started, where we stayed, how long) and it was a private trip with a great guide. Let me know if you have additional specific questions.

We did Safari in Tanzania twice, everytime about 5 weeks, and everytime self-driving, self organizing and self booking. This is the cheapest way, much more cheaper then the overpriced guided safaris. We rent a 4x4 with roof-tent out of Arusha and drove!
If you could think about it, I will help you more.

We did Safaris in Tanzania a few times.always self-driving with a rental 4x4 with rooftop-tent and then staying at campgrounds. It is soooooo much cheaper then a guided trip. But 7 days is much to short in my opinion. This would mean: 1 night in Arusha after arriving, 2 nights in Tarangire NP to have a full day there, 1 night at NgoroNgoro Crater, 1 night around Ndutu, and then you have to go back to reach your flight out.

My first safari was to Tanzania and Access2Tanzania booked it. I was very happy with them and also used their sister company Treks2Rwanda a few years later to go to Rwanda. I have also used Wild Source mentioned above twice for safaris in Kenya. I would happily recommend both to you for planning Tanzania. I would not try to self-drive on your first safari. The amount of sightings I would drive by because I don't know what I'm looking for and the animals are well hidden, it would be a shame to go all that way and miss so much because you don't have a guide to help you get the most of it. I think you'll find both A2T and Wild Source can work well within your budget.

A trip to Remember with Resma Safaris
We did 9 day safari with Resma Safaris for 3600 USD per person. And the safari was almost luxury free Wi-fi in the Vehicle safari, drinks and snacks during Safari, the hotels were the best without forgetting the meals. It was truly the trip of a lifetime!
