South Africa wine country B&B

We will be in Cape Town area next June. We would like to spend a night or two in the wine area within maybe an hours drive of Cape Town. Maybe a really nice B&B type. We love vine tasting and good food.

I found a list of places to stay on a tourist site and looked up many. Lots of them sounded nice, but maybe some of you could recommend one you were impressed with.

Thanks

We really enjoyed our three night stay at Plumwood Inn in Franschhoek. The owners Roel and Lucienne are warm and gracious; the rooms are beautiful as well as comfortable and the location is excellent.

Constantia Uitsig is a winery/hotel at perhaps 15 minutes from Capetown and also an ideal please to start from for visiting the peninsula. Theire wines and -especially! - their food is just great! They have 3 restaurants the ''middle' one just gives the best quality/price ratio (fixed menus)we ever had. We spent 3 nights there and thought first that we would also go to have dinner elsewhere, but after the first night we were so enthousiast that we stayed all 3 nights dining there. They also have wine tastings. Further they own a great game lodge in Kruger area and they offer packages'best of both worlds'- Just for the info! You can easily find them on the web.
A bit further we found a wonderful gueasthouse: Klippe River also VERY nice!

For probably some of the best Winelands experiences head to Franschhoek and check out:
Le Quartier Francais or Le Franschhoek
Both are very special and Franschhoek is a great place to base yourself when going off to explore and enjoy the Cape Winelands.

Thanks for the replies. I had found Klippe River on a SA hotel website. It does sound like something we would like, but unfornately is too far from Cape Towm for this trip. The others also look good. It is so hard to pick.

I would love a room with a fire place, a nice view, good food and wine and maybe even in a area good for evening strolling. I know, I can't have every thing!!
