Don't waste money by having a hire car when spending the day in the city itself rather use the hop on hop off bus, then have a hired car delivered to your hotel. I have used on a few occasions Aroundabout Cars but there are UK based websites that can do better prices apparently.

The Cape peninsular tour is a very full day so start early, so many beaches along the way I liked Llandudno, Noordhoek, Scarborough & if it's not already been mentioned you will probably love the vibe of Camps Bay.

AND if you get up one day and notice how clear it is -- and that there are no clouds at the top of Table Mountain -- GO. Take the cable car to the front and really see Cape Town in its glorious bowl from the top of the world.

Yes I agree & whilst there go to Signal Hill as well if just before noon you can hear the midday gun salute.

Any restaurants that serve proper spicy food?

I do not want the same experience I had in Kenya. We went to a restaurant and we ordered but the food was bland and tasteless, beautifully served, but not appetizing to my palate.

This thread is 8 years old now I don't think the only good restaurants are in V&A anymore, for example.

As far as spicy, the spiciest option will l probably be where they have condiments to add to a meal. But Even Nando's "very spicy" isn't really that spicy. There is once sauce at Eastern Food Bazaar that was pretty fiery, though.
