I returned from Egypt last week and we spent 3 nights on the Sonesta St. George from Aswan to Luxor. Beautiful ship, great staff and wonderful food. They have their own berth in Aswan and Luxor.

My husband and I were on the Sonesta St George I in February, Luxor to Aswan, four nights. I agree with raelond.

So my next question is:

Should I book this over the internet, wait until I get there or go through a travel agency in Cairo once I am there?

Thanks for your help!

Raelond, Do you mean a private dock and not next to several other boats?

I was in the Sonesta St George in August and my opinion is the same as Raelond's. Great ship, great staff and excellent rooms.
Ramara: Both in Luxor and Aswan we docked in private docks only for our ship; so there was no need to go through other boats to reach land. And also the views where not blocked by other ships docked side by side as we saw frequently.

Thanks Andonius

Can't seem to decide betwen the Oberoi Philae & The Sonesta St George. Have got a great rate for the Oberoi, but some recent bad reviews (on Trip advisor) have me concerned

Lyntay, Try this site http://www.nilecruisereservationcenter.com/
Seems to have good rates & is well recommended on Tripadvisor.
