Small size Egyptian Tours

Anyone know of an escorted tour to Egypt that would be small and use mini-vans, etc. instead of a large bus? Those huge busloads of people frighten me.

Minamar Hotel seems to sponsor small tours to the various oases. I have had a quote from them for a trip to Siwa. Has anyone used these people? It seems like a good deal to me, but I am a little nervous about someone I have not checked out. The link for their Siwa package is: http://www.minamar.com/siwa-oasis-tours-packages.html

shmann -

You can arrange a private tour. It'll be a set itinerary as you wish. Someone meeting you at airport, handled your private sightseeing in Cairo, get you to the airport or train to head down to Luxor or Aswan. And, here, someone to transfer you to your hotel or cruise boat. On the boat they usually go out with a group of like language speakers - a guide for English, maybe one for French or Italian, etc.. You might be on a bus with the larger group, but it's for a short period - 10/min... then the small group of from 5 to 15/paxs at particular sights; otherwise, it's pretty much "private" "private" throughout.

I've had the privilege of organizing a trip with a school group from Canada to Egypt (2005) and have just confirmed our next trip for 2009. We used a company based in Egypt that has offices in Canada. We had high expectations and they exceeded every one of them.

They specialize in smaller groups and our group of 43 was an exception for them. The company name is A-Z Travel and the owners are Avril Betts and Khaled Azzam. Avril actually travelled with us for 15 days and I am very comfortable recommending their services. If you would like to contact me further you can email me at cooperfam1(at)yahoo.ca and I will gladly provide whatever information I can.
