Shamwari Reserve
Selwyn--if you see this, can you comment on Shamwari please? We will be there on an organised tour, (too late to change now) in October, but would like an insight into what we can expect without reading too much hype on it's website.
Thanks a lot

Lifeman,
Wow what a question considering that it is too late to make changes!
The safari journeys on Shamwari are pretty good however they are much more expensive than much better safaris that are available in the Addo region. Please note you will have a good safari on the gamefarm so in my opinion try and get over the concept that your wallet is being stripped and just enjoy the experience. If possible ask the Shamwari management to take you to Addo elephant park for a morning safari as I am sure you will love this ride to bits.
The food and accommodation at Shamwari is out of the top drawer but as I say it all comes at a price.
Hope that this helps and that you have a great stay in the Eastern Cape.
Very proudly part of the wonderful
nation of South Africa

Many thanks Selwyn. We'll certainly get to Addo. We were told that Shamwari was more like a theme park than an opportunity to see wild animals.
This is part of a 15 day trip including Cape Town, Stellenbosch etc. Your other posts have been extremely useful, thanks again.
