Selous & Ruaha, mid-June 2010

I'm traveling to the Selous (Impala & Impala Fly) for the 16th - 20th June, followed by Ruaha (Kwihala) for the 21st-24th June.
Is there a website or information available as to how early/late the long rains have been for 2010? I'm very interested in this seasons rains and the current and likely impacts that they will have for the ecosystem, river levels, flora and fauna.
Are there any campsite news sites that show an UP-TO-DATE summary of how this season is progressing?
Any other general advises and comments on the two locations?
Many thanks for any and all replies.

Sue Stolberger is the only citizen allowed to live on privately owned property in Ruaha. She has a great interest in the water of this area. Here is the link to her web page. If you don't find what you need on this site, try emailing Sue for more current info.

TC. Many thanks for your info and the great trip report. I do like the reminders of things to take and your summary top tips, they are great for even a reasonably seasoned traveler.

How was your stay at Kwihala? I'm heading to Ruaha next year and am considering Kwihala or Mwagusi. Kwihala appeals to me because it's smaller, but Mwagusi has the reputation for the best game viewing.
thanks.
