Selinda pack
There are some interesting end-of-year sightings listed in the latest Selinda camp news www.linyanti.com
They include the Selinda pack bringing down a large kudu bull after a long chase. That must have been a spectacular show. And there's a nice photo of a yellow mongoose with its conquest, a spitting cobra.

Bill,
What I found remarkable was the mongoose posing as it did so close to the cobra to look in the direction of the human watchers. It's not clear whether the mongoose damaged the snake before the ratel come on the scene...but maybe it did.

John,
I agree, that was remarkable as the mongoose certainly had complete confidence -- you would also expect the cobra to be in a defensive position with the mongoose right there so perhaps the damage was done at that point. Mongoose can slay a cobra but has no prayer with the ratel.
