Are the Samburu Serena Lodge & Samburu Game Lodge one in the same?

No, the Samburu Game Lodge is operated by Wilderness Lodges and is located on the Samburu (north) side of the river. The Serena is located on the Buffalo Springs (south) side of the river.

I've stayed at the Game Lodge and it was OK once I asked to change rooms. Some of the rooms there are very old and don't have a river view. The actual lodge setting which is right on the river is delightful and the view from the 'lounge area' is wonderful with elephants and buffalo being frequent visitors to a drinking hole further down the river.

Next year, I am staying at the Serena as the other Serena properties I have stayed in offered a higher standard of accommodation than the Game Lodge.
