Should we include Egypt on our Greek Island Cruise?
We are trying to decide on a Greek Island cruise and Tour. One of the tours sails the Greek Islands and then down to Port Said and Alexandria.
We are having a problem deciding if the time in Egypt is worth the time required to get there.
The cruise shows a day at sea, ( from Santorini) and then only 4 hours in Port Said and then 6 hours in Alexandria, followed by a day at sea til 3 pm ( when we arrive at Rhodes).
Does the 2 days at sea justify such short stops in Egypt and what is there to do in Port Said and Alexandria with so little time.
Would we be able to get to Cairo? I'm thinking not.
OR should we focus the trip on Greece and save Egypt for another trip.
I'd really appreciate and advice.

Its not worth it, in my opinion, if you're only going to visit Port Said (I haven't been there) and Alexandria (I've only been one time, and its not worth the journey for the few interesting sites).
Egypt's been around for thousands of years, and I think the sites will be there when you plan your next trip.
Its an amazing country and its worth its own trip -- not a pitstop.

Thank you both for your advice. It confirms what I was already thinking. It does seem a long way to go for such a short, rushed visit.
I will look forward to spending more time in Egypt on another trip.
