Safari operators for UK 30 yr female

Hi there,

Am planning on a safari for between 10 days -1 month later in the year. Most probably through Kenya, Tanzania and maybe Ugunda for the gorillas.

I will be travelling solo from the UK and wondered if anyone could recommend any operators at all. There seem to be so many here it really is quite confusing - Exodus, Explore, Dragoman, Guerba, Absolute Africa etc, etc. I'm totally confused and wonder if anyone can recommend/dismiss any of the above operators or similar.

Thanks is advance

Anna

Except for Absolute Africa, not familiar with the others, which I presume are UK based? - but Absolute Africa (which is US based) is rather overpriced.

You might want to consider in-country Kenya/Tanzania/Uganda tour operators - with tourism down in the East African countries, you are likely to get better prices.

Try -
www.essafari.co.ke (Kenyan based)
www.roysafaris.com (for Tanzania)

I'm sure posters will reply with other suggestions for in-country operators.

As Sandi tell you in the previous E.mail Both companies you mentioned which based in the UK, also with this Absolute Africa are all expensive for such safaris you want to plan in East Africa. We have organized such a trip last year with other friends of mine from Germany, and we use local Tour Operator by the name BUSHBOUND TRAVEL based in Arusha - Tanzania, They are experience in both Mountain Climb, Wildlife Safaris and they are the organize our Gorilla Trail Safaris in Kigali Rwanda, and all went according to plan. We highly recommend them. Contact them for more info. E.mail[email protected]

A single male friend of mine has taken many many trips with both Explore and Exodus and enjoyed them greatly.

In some cases they take the trips themselves but often they subcontract to a trusted local operator.

If you can find out which local operator these firms use for the trips you are interested in you might save money booking directly.

That said, booking with bonded UK companies does offer a higher degree of protection should anything change/ go wrong.
