Rwanda
I am interested in traveling to Rwanda, as I remember the genocide, and would like to see certain things that stand out as landmarks to me. I am wondering if it would be safe as there is militants in Nigeria and the area. I would like to know if it is an accessible are for tourists.

HI Leslie,
We just returned from Rwanda and found it to be one of the safest places we've traveled. Of course, you want to take the basic precautions after dark in Kigali, but for the most part, we always felt very safe.
The Genocide Memorial Museum in Kigali is outstanding. We only allowed for about 90 minutes and could easily have spent another hour there. We also had a very, very interesting conversation with a young man working there.
