Leely, I loved your report and especially THANK-YOU for posting the photos of your tent interiors! They look so cozy inside and gave me such a shiver of anticipation, thinking about the night sounds of lions...every time I log onto this site I read something that increases the excitement (INCLUDING the prime Crater location for the Big 5). I'm understanding now why everyone is so desperate to return to Africa. It seems like a "homecoming", is that true?

Hola, Virginia. For us, nothing seemed to work for the tsetse flies, but don't worry too much; I had been on safari another time and was not bothered by them at all. Who knows why this time? The previous safari I had treated all my clothes with a product called permethrin but I've read it doesn't work, so...
Definitely take some kind of lotion with at least 25-30% DEET for mosquito protection.
If you do a search on this board you should get lots of hits with better information than mine.
Here is a recent thread about what kinds of medicines people take with them when traveling to Africa:

Leely,
So happy, yet kinda disappointed that your report has come to an end. Enjoyed it very much! Yes, that whole area around Selous does sound intriquing doesn't it? I guess we'll just have to wait for the next adventures of Ms. Leely part III.
