RE: Shark Diving Hermanus

Does anyone have any recommendations for outfits in Hermanus that offer shark diving? I have heard that some are better than others and want to make sure we have the best experience...net, don't get eaten or drowned.

I went twice, the second time with White Shark Ecoventures, and I highly recommend them. They are based in Gansbaai, not Hermunus, but all of the Hermanus/Gansbaai operators depart from the same place (Shark Alley) in Gansbaii.

Thanks, that is very helpful to know. How many people did you have on your excursion?

I think there were eight or so on the boat, but only three of us got into the cage. I'm not sure if that's a representative ratio, but from what I've read, its rare that everyone will want to get into the cage.

We also used White Shark Ecoventures. On our boat there were either 8 or 10. I was the only person who didn't go into the cage, not for fear... I just don't "do water" and my mother didn't raise a fool. That aside, everyone has a grand time. Three sharks and some great underwater photos taken. I took most of the pics from up top for everyone else.

It's a fun day.
