Pacific Northwest AFRICA night GTG (Vancouver)

It's that time of the year again - Jim and & I will be hosting another Get-To-Gether for any & all Africa enthusiasts that can make it!

Time: 3 pm
Date: August 22, 2009 (Saturday)
Where: Vancouver Lower Mainland

Any and all are welcome, Chef Jim will be doing kebabs (both meat & veggie) on the BBQ around 5 or 6:00, while Sous Chef Lynda will have prepared salads & potatoes. Anyone who would like to bring something is welcome to, deserts and appies are especially needed, but it's up to you! Pop, iced tea and lemonade will be on ice in the cooler, and please feel free to bring anything else of any nature that you would like to drink!

Bring your pictures, or your dreams of Africa and we will spend the afternoon and evening dreaming & reminiscing!

Katie, any T-shirts, bags, or what-nots you would like to send please feel free! Wait, no don't SEND them - BRING them! Expense it out as 'promotion....' it's the next best thing to going to Afree-kah which Alexis got to go to, but you didn't...

Please email Lynda at:

I'm really looking forward to it, Lynda. Thanks to you and Jim for hosting it again this year!

I'll email you to determine what I can bring in the way of food.

We're almost done on the DVD from our trip that Jim is dying to show you guys - we have capped it at 15 min this year, even Afreekah enthusiasts fall asleep after too many pictures! I've also ordered up good weather for the day.

Just topping in case there are others out there that haven't seen this and are able to come! Also I had to look up and write down the time I said because I forgot....

Also - Katie, I haven't heard from you yet, are you out there still? I'd love to have Fodors 'door prizes' if you still have available!!!

Hi Kristina,

I plan on driving up from the Federal Way area but am planning on visiting my Mom in Skagit County on the way. It will be fun to meet some other Africa travelers who didn't come to the first GTG two years ago. Have a safe drive and see you next Saturday.
