Wadi Rum was a disappointment for me, but I blame the tour company for some of that. You need to be there for evening and morning light, and you need a guide who will show you the TEL sights (assuming you're interested in those, of course). Plus. I'd ridden a camel before, and I don't find it particularly comfortable, or exciting.
